Australian cricketer, Aaron Finch’s focus will be giving a good start to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. He will be playing the maiden IPL season for the Virat Kohli-led side who is yet to lift the tournament’s trophy.
In the recent interaction with Sportstar, the white-ball specialist Aaron Finch has opened up about his strategy for the upcoming IPL edition.
Finch hopes that he will be given a chance to bat at the opening position because RCB has already a massive top-order. His planning is to take advantage of the field restrictions during the powerplay overs if gets the chance to bat in top-order.
“Hopefully, I get a game in that batting line-up. I think if I am in the starting line-up, my role will be to try and take advantage during the powerplays and hopefully get us off to a flying start.”

The attacking batsman Aaron Finch said that RCB’s main focus would be to get a good start to make their chance for playoffs.
“I think getting off to a good start gives us the best chance to make the playoffs, so that will be the main focus.”
When asked about the inconsistency of RCB in the IPL over the years, Finch said that he doesn’t think it’s a concerning factor in the T20s.
“Every year there are different people in the squad, so I don’t think it is something that needs to be addressed. The nature of T20 cricket is that any team can win on any given day.”
Meanwhile, Finch is in the UK to play the three-match ODI and T20I series starting from 4 September. He is expected to join RCB squad on 17 September.
