Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is set to take the new duty from October 23. Sourav Ganguly will unanimously become the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman wished Sourav Ganguly for the new role.

Ganguly will have to leave all the media contract and also the position of president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to join the new role. As the per the rule, the BCCI officials can not hold more than one post.

Also, he will not host or participate as the expert in TV Show and will have to leave the commentary till his tenure end as BCCI President. Ganguly, who is also called as Dada in the cricket world, will hold the position till the middle of 2020. The Board will accept healthy decisions from the former Indian captain.

Virender Sehwag congratulates his teammate Ganguly and celebrates the decision. He believes that Ganguly will give new wings to BCCI.

Former Cricketer VVS Laxman also congratulates Ganguly and he also hopes that Ganguly will work for the betterment of cricket in India.

Sourav Ganguly was the captain of the Indian team and under him, the Indian team had won many series. On Monday (14th October), he filed his nomination in Mumbai. Also, Brijesh Patel is set to become the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sourav Ganguly talked to media and said that he would work for the organisation to bring back the image which was deteriorated in recent past. He opines that he will bring back the system.
