It was the bowling department again who helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to seal those crucial points in their kitty. In the second straight game, they made life hard for the opposition to stay in the tourney. The skipper’s knock coupled with Rashid’s magical spell and Bhuvi-Kaul’s brilliance worked it for SRH to seal the deal.
Experienced campaigners stepping up at the right time: Kane
Speaking of the game, Kane Williamson quoted that his bowlers did it once again and termed Siddharth Kaul and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as world class. He also showered words of praise on experienced guys in the bunch who are stepping up at the crucial time for the team.
”We’re playing on some tough surfaces. We were aiming for 150, and we weren’t far away. Our fielding was probably a bit sloppy. Could have operated better. At the same time, good to come away with the win. Some experienced campaigners stepping up at the right time. That last over comes to mind. Bhuvi was world class. They’ve both done it (Bhuvi and Kaul) extremely well for a long time. It’s best we can try to adapt to the surfaces. We’re seeing off-paced deliveries used and then yorkers to break things up,” Kane quoted.
Kane Williamson furtherly added that there is still a room for the improvement in the team. He also quoted that they need to address the batting flaws and adjust it quickly before making the life hard for themselves. It seems like Kane wants to test their bench strength as well.
”At the moment it’s tough going, but as a team, we’re getting enough and our bowling unit has been outstanding. Obviously, it wasn’t our best fielding performance. Guys held their nerves at key moments which went a long way in us scraping across the line. Bat and ball, there are things we certainly want to touch on moving forward as a team,”Williamson concluded while speaking in the post-match presentation.
All in all, it was another classical victory for Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are currently placed at top of the points table with 16 points in their kitty. Coming to future assignments, they will travel to Delhi to take on the home side on May 10th.
