Hanuma Vihari is being praised for his improving performance in the Test Cricket. In England grounds, he gave satisfactory performance but on the West Indies Soil, he was impressive. Against West Indies the 25-year-old hit a century and two half-centuries.

His understanding of pitch, selecting appropriate shot and reading the batsman during bowling has proved him special for the team. Hanuma Vihari has fixed his place for the further Test Matches. Virat Kohli also praised the young player’s talent and expressed that he would go far in cricket.

I just want to keep my head down and keep working hard – Hanuma Vihari

The right-hand batsman has expressed that he wants to focus more on his cricket. This is only the start of his international career and he feels good about it but now he wants to evolve as a cricketer and work on himself. Indirectly, Vihari has opined that he doesn’t want to fly in the sky with this small success.

“It feels good but at the same time, I am not satisfied. You cannot go overboard with the performances. This is just the start of my career. I just want to keep my head down and keep working hard. I want to keep looking forward to a lot more years (of cricket) which is there in me. (With regards) to my first Test century, it is always good to have your first one early in your career and I could achieve it,” Hanuma Vihari told Hindustan Times.

West Indies tour was the successful one for the batsman as he made 289 runs in only two Test matches with an average of 96.33.

In total, Vihari has played six Test matches and scored 456 runs. He is in the top 30 in ICC Test batting rankings. He has played 72 List A and 75 first-Class matches. His highest score in List A cricket is 169 and in first-class is 302*. The player will be looking forward to being selected in the senior team consistently.
