Happy Holi – Cricketers Extend Their Greetings on the Festival of Colours
Mar 21, 2019 at 1:34 PM
It is the time of the year when we paint the town in clours of the rainbow. Like most other festivals in India, Holi signifies the victory of good over evil. Despite being on a tight schedule, the cricketers didn’t forget to extend their greetings on this auspicious occasion.
Meanwhile, the cricketers are currently putting all their focus on the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). The 12th edition of the IPL – a sort of festival for the cricket lovers starts from March 23 (Saturday). Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chapuak Stadium.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently came out with the full schedule for the group stages. Starting from March 23, the group stages will run until May 5 when Kolkata Knight Riders play the last game against Mumbai Indians. The finale of the tournament is likely to take place on May 12. The apex body, however, came out with the schedule for the first two weeks of the tournament. They waited for the General Elections to come out before revealing the entire itinerary.
Ahead of the tournament, one issue has garnered a lot of debates – workload management. With the World Cup starting in three weeks time after the end of IPL, the Indian players need to be careful. While there have been thoughts that the probables should not play the entire tournament, many are of the opinion that individual players should concentrate on the recovery process.
Amidst, all the debates and tight schedule, the cricketers took time to wish the general public on the festival of colours – Holi. Besides, everybody echoed the same words and urged others to be safe and not harm the animals.
