David Warner’s Injury Scare before Ashes kick off:
Ahead of the Magellan Ashes series opener on November 23 at the Gabba, Steven Smith’s deputy and explosive Australian opener David Warner suffered a neck injury during the practice session when he was doing some catching practice in Brisbane on Tuesday morning.
The 31-year-old Warner, who played 66 Tests for Australia walked out of the practice session when he came underneath the ball, before complaining about the sore neck.
However, the left-handed batsman is confident even after the stiff neck to opening the innings on the home soil.
Ravindra Jadeja slips in the ICC Test Rankings:
The bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who had played an imperative role for India particularly in the Test format has slipped to third place in the ICC Test rankings’ bowling charts.
The left-arm orthodox spinner Jadeja, who was the chief architect at home while donning the white jersey after he sent down just two overs in the first drawn Test at the Eden Gardens which eventually concluded on November 20.
As the Kolkata surface suited the pace bowlers, Jadeja went on to lose 20 points in the all-rounders’ list after missing out to score in both the innings.
However, the best part is the prominent all-rounder can make most out of the remainder of the series.
On the other side, the batting mainstay and India skipper Virat Kohli has positioned himself at the number five in the ICC Test batting rankings following the hard-fought century at the Eden Gardens.
Jake Ball to Play the first Test at Gabba:
England fast bowler confirmed he is fit and raring to go in the first Test which already saw his head coach Trevor Bayliss hinted to pick the former over Craig Overton.
As the England squad trained in Brisbane after arriving the stadium on November 19, Ball proved his fitness after suffering from an ankle injury which he picked during the first warm-up fixture early this number.
The 26-year-old Nottinghamshire-born Ball has played three Tests for England in which he managed to pick just two wickets after his debut in July 2017 against Pakistan at iconic Lord’s.
Perth’s new Stadium to host fifth ODI as its first:
Following the start-of-the-art stadium, the brand new Perth Stadium would be opened for the first time for the spectators.
The stadium will host the fifth One-day International of the five-match series between hosts Australia and visitors England on January 28, after the confirmation from the government of Western Australia.
Interestingly, the stadium has the capacity to house 55,000 spectators once the seatings would be installed around the sightscreens in the newly-laid arena.
Italian Serie A Result:
During the league fixture of the Italian Serie A on Monday night, Inter Milan drubbed Atalanta 2-0 at San Siro Stadium of Milan.
In the lone-fixture, the hosts witnessed the brace from Mauro Icardi in the second-half of the game.
Icardi registered the first goal in 51st minute of the play, before extending the lead in 60th-minute.
As Atalanta was equally up to the task, but their players were not able to convert the chances.
Following the two headers from impressive Icardi, Milan jumped to the second spot in the ongoing competition.
Indian Super League:
Hosts, Pune City, will take on Delhi Dynamos at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex on November 22 at 8:00 PM IST.
