Indian World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir heaped praise on legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni for his contribution to Indian cricket over the years and believes that no one would be able to achieve the captaincy records of MS Dhoni for India in International cricket.

MS Dhoni is the only captain in cricket history to win all three premier ICC events T20I World Cup, the 2011 World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. MS Dhoni, apart from the three premier titles, has also won the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cup and it was during his tenure that India was ranked no.1 in tests. The legendary skipper is known for his smart cricketing brain and tactics, which did wonders for the Men in Blue in International Cricket.

During a discussion in Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir hailed MS Dhoni for his brilliant captaincy for the Men in Blue over the years winning three ICC trophies for India and believes that anyone leading India in the future will find it tough to accomplish what he has done for the team.

“No one can match MS Dhoni‘s Captaincy in Indian cricket, many captains have come & many captains will come but I don’t think anyone can match his captaincy. The man who wins three ICC trophies in his captaincy, I don’t think anything bigger than this,” Gautam Gambhir said.

Throughout his career, MS Dhoni has been renowned for his quick thinking, constant composure, and willingness to stand by his teammates even when things become bad. These qualities also became apparent as he was organizing his troops. He helped ignite several careers and revive the careers of several athletes.

MS Dhoni has rescued the Indian team from tough situations on numerous occasions and has played some unbelievable knocks under pressure for the team and the Indian World Cup-winning skipper is one of the most fearful strikers of the ball in ODI and T20 cricket during his playing days.

The Men in Blue will look to take inspiration from India’s 2011 World Cup-winning performance to produce a similar result on the home soil. Rohit Sharma has a chance to become the third Indian captain to lift the ODI World Cup after legendary Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, and the Men in Blue will be desperate to win the coveted title on home soil after 12 long years.
