Pant, who had failed to perform in the first two T20Is against the West Indies, on Tuesday showed some spark in the final match which India won by seven wickets to clean sweep the three-match series. The left-handed batsman played a winning knock of unbeaten 65 off just 42 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes as India chased down the target of 147 with four balls to spare.
I finally got the result – Rishabh Pant
After Rishabh Pant scored a match-winning knock of 65 runs in the final T20I against West Indies to take India to victory, opening batsman Rohit Sharma caught up with the young southpaw after the match and quizzed him on his approach.
In the video shared by BCCI on their official Twitter handle, Rohit asked Pant how he felt taking his team to victory after not particularly faring well in the first couple of T20Is.
“Rohit Bhai, I have believed in my processes for long. Even though I wasn’t getting scores, I wanted to continue to do that, and today I got the result for it. When I was playing in the middle, I just thought of having good partnerships and then accelerating towards the last 7-8 overs,” Rishabh Pant replied.
I believe in the process:
Pant, who played a fine 42-ball 65-run knock in the 3rd T20I after a string of low scores in the first two matches against the West Indies, said that whenever he failed to perform for his team and his plans did not work, he did get frustrated.

“When my game plan doesn’t work, of course there are times when I get frustrated, but I also assess what else I could have done in the same situation. It’s also not necessary that you are always able to execute the right decisions that you are taking. But I just continue to believe in my processes and abilities.”
Chasing 147 on a slow deck, skipper Kohli anchored the innings to perfection with 59 off 45 balls while Pant was brilliant during his unbeaten 65 off 42 balls. Meanwhile, the team management hopes Rishabh Pant to deliver similar knocks in the ODI format, especially, in the absence of MS Dhoni.
