I Worked On My Game During the Tour of England – Karun Nair

Team India batsman Karun Nair recently admitted that he got time to work on his batting skills during the recent tour of England.

Meanwhile, Nair was unfortunate to not get a game during that. Although he was the first cover-up batsman, Hanuma Vihari got the nod ahead of him for the last Test. This irked many fans back in India, but Nair is unperturbed by these.

However, Karun Nair admitted that he got time to improve his game and his fitness too. He also revealed that he had a lot of time to think about his game.

I have been working hard on my fitness. I had a lot of time off and didn’t play any game in the United Kingdom. I had a lot of time to think about my game and work on it,” Nair said to Sportskeeda.

Subsequently, Karun Nair added that he is keeping a check on his diet. The Karnataka batsman said he is attending his sessions to keep up the impetus. Meanwhile, Nair will lead the Board’s President XI against Windies later in the month.

“I have been working hard on my fitness. I had a lot of time off and didn’t play any game in the United Kingdom. I had a lot of time to think about my game and work on it,” he added.

Karun Nair interested in playing golf

Nair, on the other hand, has a keen interest in playing golf and expressed his desire to play with Sachin Tendulkar. Meanwhile, Karun Nair praised Indian captain Virat Kohli for maintaining the high level of fitness.

Kohli has been instrumental in putting the fitness regime in the Indian cricket. Thus, Nair thinks Kohli has been an inspiration to all the young players.

“Virat Kohli has aced the fitness scene. He has been so disciplined over so many years, to put your mind to something and actually go out there and achieve it, he has been brilliant. He’s an inspiration to everyone in the team and all the youngsters. If there is anyone who should be emulated in terms of cricket and fitness it is probably Kohli right now,” he concluded.
