ICC Champions Trophy 2017 – Twitter Explodes As India Qualify For Semi Finals

The way India mauled South Africa in front of a packed to capacity crowd, the men in blue surely seem to be the team to beat this season. South Africa entered the tournament as the number one ranked ODI outfit, but to be brutally honest, didn’t play like the top ranked team in any of their games. The outing against India turned out to be an extremely damp affair as the game was over within the first half itself, when South Africa’s running between the wickets, pretty much cost them the match.
Against a top notch batting lineup like India, no total below 350 can be considered safe. Here, South Africa just had a paltry 191 on board to defend. The chase was made to look like a stroll in the park with South Africa’s biggest nemesis in ICC events, Shikhar Dhawan coming to the party yet again.
The Delhi opener marauded the Proteas pacers with a fantastic knock of 78 and not even for a moment did Dhawan look vulnerable. Rohit Sharma had a rare off day as he was caught behind early on, looking to take Morne Morkel on. Skipper Virat Kohli breezed his way past a fluent half century in the considerably easy chance.
With the win, India are set to top the group and lock horns with Bangladesh in the second semi final. Fans on Twitter were simply ecstatic with India advancing ahead, and below are some of the tweets.

Shikhar Dhawan is that classmate who does badly throughout the year but ends up topping the final exams.#INDvSA

Dhoni would have stumped Dhawan. His hands move in real time speed even in the slow-mo. #INDvSA

He's battled his way through to a half century, has @imVkohli and shows why he is so good in a pressure game
