Afghanistan who are playing their first world cup have impressed with their bowling. They have good bowlers like Shapoor Zadran, Hamad Hasan, Dawlat Zadran, Ashraf. The batting in the previous match against Scotland was bad as they lost wickets in the middle but Shenwari played an exceptionally well to register their first World Cup win. They need their batters and bowlers to perform as a unit if they have challenge the Australian team.

Australia has a formidable unit. They have a solid batting unit. The openers Finch and Warner are expected to give an aggressive start to the team, Smith has been in tremendous form. If Clarke is coming back as captain, one out of either Bailey or Watson has to replace him. In previous match they lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled for a low total of 151.

In Australia’s opening match Maxwell was in great hitting form scoring 66 runs off 40 balls to propel the score to 342 against England, Mitchell Marsh also is a good hitter and followed by Haddin who also can come down the order and hit some big hits. The bowling looks also good with the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazelwood in their ranks. Glenn Maxwell is the lone spinner. Mitchell Starc produced an inspiring spell but could not prevent Australia from losing. Against Afghanistan the bowling must produce the right results.
