Recently, Pakistan registered their second victory in the World Cup today at McLean Park where they went on to crush UAE by a margin of 129 runs. Following which, the Pakistani skipper Misbah-ul-Haq claimed that this victory was surely much needed for the team as well as for the team’s perspective to qualify for the quarter final.

Also, Pakistan has gained much confidence from this match. They scored a total of 339 runs by batting first and Misbah believes that such kind of batting display was surely badly needed for the team and they are released of the pressure to some extent now. Misbah mentioned that victory in this game was sort of compulsory for them and also they planned to win it by a huge margin. They managed to do both and Misbah feels that this has helped their net run rate to a considerable extent and they can now afford to relax a bit upon their net run rate.

After being put into bat, Pakistan posed a huge total of 339 runs on the board, courtesy of Ahmed Shehzad who scored a fantastic knock of 93 runs. Sad that he missed his century and was run out on that score. In reply, UAE managed to score just 210 runs in the full quota of 50 overs by losing 8 wickets. Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for them. He took a total of 2 wickets in his quota of 10 overs and he only gave 35 runs in those overs.

Misbah is happy by the balanced and stable performance of their team and he now looks for a better progress for Pakistan in this World Cup. Pakistan suffered a setback initially by losing each of their two games in the World Cup.

The 40-year old right handed batsman, who himself scored 65 runs today concluded by saying that the next game for Pakistan is equally important and they should be focusing on that without wasting any time.
