One of the premier India fast bowlers especially in the longest format of the game, Ishant Sharma has been named in the Team India squad reserve list for the upcoming 2019 World Cup which is slated to be played in England and Wales from 30th May 2019.
Ishant Sharma has regained his lost rhythm especially in the white ball cricket and has been a consistent performer for the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing edition of the IPL so far. He has been added to the reserve list along with the likes of Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant and Navdeep Saini and Axar Patel.
As per reports in the Times of India, it has been understood that Ishant Sharma is the 2nd choice option in the reserves list. A source close to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that Ishant Sharma will be the 2nd choice speedster after Navdeep Saini. The speedster played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and was pretty impressive all through the season. He impressed one and all with his pace and bounce.

Ishant Sharma has bagged 10 wickets in 10 matches in Vivo IPL 12 so far and also bowled with a good economy rate of 7.65. He has got DC off to great starts with the ball and has deceived the opposition batters with his change of pace. His efforts were instrumental in helping Delhi Capitals qualify for the playoffs after a gap of 7 years.
The veteran fast bowler has added some new dimensions to his bowling. He has used them well during the match. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals assistant coach Mohammad Kaif said that he was impressed with the new pace variations from Ishant Sharma. He has been quite deceptive and has used the slower balls and knuckball to perfection.

“He is bowling different types of slower balls, there are the cutters, the slower bouncers, so it just shows that he has many weapons in his armoury now,” Kaif was quoted as saying in a Delhi Capitals press conference.
