New Zealand speedster and also a recruit of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Lockie Ferguson indirectly took a dig at Ambati Rayudu over his comments a few days ago that he has bought a 3D glass to watch the ICC World Cup 2019 after getting omitted from the Indian World Cup squad which will tour England for the mega event starting from 30th May.
The Chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad after picking Vijay Shankar in the 15 member preliminary squad stated that the reason for his selection. Prasad said that Vijay Shankar is a 3-dimensional player who can contribute in all 3 departments of the game. He was picked ahead of Ambati Rayudu who was earlier tipped to be the No 4 for India in the World Cup.
Following Rayudu’s exclusion, he took to his twitter handle and took at the BCCI selectors for not selecting in the World Cup squad. BCCI also replied to the tweet and said that they are well aware of the tweet by Rayudu. However, they didn’t punish Rayudu for his offence as they said that it was emotions which came out from Ambati Rayudu as World Cup is indeed a huge tournament.
Meanwhile, Lockie Ferguson taking a dig at Ambati Rayudu. Taking to his Instagram handle, he shared a story where he wrote: “I am a 3 D player too”.
Despite not making it to the 15 member India squad, Ambati Rayudu has been kept as a standby for the tournament. He might be needed if any injury occurs to any top order batsman during the course of the tournament.
