Mitchell Starc bowled a brilliant spell against Windies Cricket Team, which saw the defending champions bagging yet another victory in the ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, the former Australian great Allan Border hails him as the best bowler in the world cricket at present.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc on Thursday became the fastest bowler to 150 ODI wickets and he also became the first in World Cup 2019 to pick up a five-wicket haul to lead his team to a 15-run win over West Indies in Nottingham.
Chasing 289 for victory, the West Indies were restricted to 273 for 9 with Starc picking up his sixth five-wicket haul in ODIs. Australia, who were bowled out for 288 batting first, registered their second successive win in the tournament to move up to second place in the points table.
Mitchell Starc has got his rhythm:
Starc finished with figures of 5 for 46 from his quota of 10 overs and bettered former Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq‘s record to become the fastest to 150 wickets in his 77th ODI match. Saqlain had achieved the milestone in 78 matches.
Talking to ICC, the former Australian skipper said that when Starc has got his rhythm and his form is good, he is the best bowler in the world. Border said that Starc has the ability to swing the ball early and he does not allow the tail-enders to score runs with his pace and the angle he bowls.
Mitchell Starc’s performance against the West Indies was tremendous. Allan Border also praised fast bowler Pat Cummins but said that Australia still has lots of scope for improvement,” he added.
Well, it would be a scintillating contest between the bat and the ball when Australia meets the Indian National Cricket Team. Australia got their fast bowler Mitchell Starc make the ball talk and also found the perfect balance to the team.
In between, the Indian team has been at their best in the game against South Africa. They would like to repeat a similar performance against the Australian team as well.
