Pakistan have won their second game against hosts England in a nerve racking thriller. After a subdued performance against West Indies, Pakistan clearly turned the tide against the home team.

They have done justice to their “unpredictable” tag in this game. England were considered heavy favorites going into the game, but Pakistan had other ideas. After losing 4-0 to England recently, the Pakistan cricket team were on fire from the start.

Imam Ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman gave the team a solid start with 82 run partnership. The middle order clicked so well on the day. Babar Azam, Mohammed Hafeez and Sarfaraz Ahmed have all chipped in with impressive knocks.

All the three players managed to score fifties and ensured there were no hiccups in their innings. Eventually, the team finished with 348 on the board at the end of their innings. On the other hand, English bowlers were clueless against Pakistan after their disciplined bowling display against South Africa.

Asked to chase 332, England faltered early with both openers dismissed inside nine overs. Joe Root stood strong, but Pakistan picked Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes and put England under pressure. However, Root got much needed support from Jos Buttler. The duo managed to stabilize their innings and got England back into the game. They managed to put on a 130 run partnership for the 5th wicket.

Both Jos Buttler and Joe Root managed to score hundreds in the process. However, once Pakistan took both their wickets, the energy is back in the team. Pushed by the crowd, Pakistan team played with purpose and built more and more pressure on English lower order.

Eventually, they won the game comfortably with 14 runs. Wahab Riaz took Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes in successive deliveries during 48th over.
