In the warm-up match against Bangladesh on Tuesday (May 28), KL Rahul alongside MS Dhoni looked in an ominous touch which pushed India’s total to 359 for seven in 50 allotted overs. Rahul has had slammed a delicate 108 off 99 deliveries before Sabbir Rahman bowled him around the legs.

Meanwhile, Dhoni played a remarkable knock who scored 113. He has brought up his triple-figure mark with a straight six on the bowling of Abu Jayed. However, Shakib Al Hasan accounted for his wicket in the final over of India’s innings.

Dhoni has flexed his muscles at the fag end of the innings to wallop the Tigers’ bowlers all-around the park.

He faced 78 deliveries which saw him slamming eight fours and seven sixes.

Ravindra Jadeja 11 (4) and Dinesh Karthik 7 (5) remained not out.

Solid partnership:

For the fifth wicket, Rahul and Dhoni added 164 runs which eventually allowed Hardik Pandya to go hard at the Tigers’ bowlers. But his innings was cut short when Sabbir completed a catch on the bowling of Shakib Al Hasan. He managed to score 11-ball 21.

Earlier, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza won the toss and elected to bowl first on a batting-friendly surface.

Batting first, India lost its first wicket in the form of Shikhar Dhawan. Mustafizur Rahman had provided the first breakthrough for Bangladesh when he trapped the southpaw in front of the wickets while bowling the penultimate delivery of the third over.

Dhawan, who looked rusty, faced nine balls for a run. However, on the other hand, Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli steadied the ship while adding 45 runs for the second wicket. Rohit 19 (42) was cleaned up by Rubel Hossain, whereas Kohli 47 (46) got castled on a peach of a delivery from Saifuddin.

India lost the fourth wicket in the form of Vijay Shankar 2 (7), who was caught by Mushfiqur Rahim on the bowling of Rubel.
