Virat Kohli was the person of interest during the ongoing third ODI between India and Australia being played at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22, 2023 thanks to his antics on the field.
This match is extremely important for India, who have not lost their last nine bilateral ODI series at home since Australia defeated them in 2020 as the series is leveled 1-1. Australia captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to bat first on a pitch that aids bowlers in the second half.
While India came into this match unchanged, Australia made two changes as Smith revealed that two changes were made to the Australian team David Warner came in for Cameron Green and Ashton Agar came in for Nathan Ellis keeping in mind that Chepauk’s pitch tended to aid spinners.
Smith said: “We are gonna have a bat. Looks like quite a dry surface, it is pretty hot out here. Will look to put a good total on this surface. We have had good fun and it will be exciting in the decider. We love playing in the crunch games and it’s exciting. It’s dry, so Ashton Agar is back. David Warner comes in for Cameron Green who is feeling a bit unwell, so there are changes.”
Australia had a good start as with Travis Head (33) and Mitchell Marsh (47) adding 68 runs for the first wicket. But then Hardik Pandya removed both of them and also captain Steve Smith for a duck to leave the visitors 85/3 in 15 overs.

Meanwhile, former India captain Virat Kohli was busy in the field, with some excellent saves in close in positions, and also kept himself and the crowd entertained with some of choicest antics on the field.
After the end of the 37th over, when the wicket of Marcus Stoinis had fallen, who was caught by Shubman Gill off Axar Patel’s bowling, Virat Kohli was seen doing a funny walk, which was similar to how actor Anil Kapoor walks in his movie.
