IND vs NZ 2017, 2nd T20I: Twitter Reacts as Colin Munro’s Ton Powers Visitors to Big Total
Nov 4, 2017 at 8:32 PM
Learning their lessons from the failure in the first T20 International, New Zealand rode on Colin Munro’s second T20 ton to post a daunting 196 for 2 in the do-or-die second game at Rajkot.
After Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first, New Zealand openers- Martin Guptill and Colin Munro- gave the visitors a flying start by adding 105 runs off just 66 balls before Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed the former for 45. The openers began in a lukewarm fashion before Guptill hit Chahal for 17 runs in the fifth over to help his team collect 48 runs in the powerplay. Both the openers also targetted debutant Mohammed Siraj as he ended up conceding 26 runs off his first two overs.
The hosts managed to get rid of the dangerous Williamson cheaply when the Kiwi skipper flicked a Siraj delivery straight to the the fielder but Munro was going strong from the other end to keep his team in the hunt for a big total. The left-handed batsman reached his hindered off just 54 balls with the help of 6 fours and 7 sixes. He remained unbeaten on 109 and was well supported by Tom Bruce (18*) as the Kiwis put up a big total.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:

So for all the big shots that Guptill played, he finishes with 45 from 41 balls. On this surface, not enough. 3×4, 3×6 & 21 dot balls

Finally people in NZ will know Guptill was sent with the team too. #IndvNz

Colin Munro and Martin Guptill doing to India what Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma did to New Zealand in the previous game. #INDvNZ

So Ashish Nehra retired in the last game and Mohammed Siraj is debuting today. Seems like rise of the new era. Big day for him. #INDvNZ
