Indian cricket team kick starts their Australian tour with two warm-up games in Perth against Western Australian XI at WACA ground next month.
The first match will be held on 8th January – a T20 match from 6 PM on Friday while the two sides will meet in 50 over battle at the same venue from 2.30 PM on 9th January. India will meet Australia in a five-match One-day International series from 12th January at WACA, Perth and then three T20 internationals.
India will be looking to improve their previous performances where they lost in the tri-series staged in January. They lost all three matches in the league stages and were knocked out of the tournament. The ODI and T20 matches will be important for India and Australia as BCCI and Cricket Australia look ahead of the World T20 match. Australia, in T20Is, will be led by Aaron Finch as they will try to win their first-ever win in the tournament.
India has a balanced team with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rahane. India selectors have included new fresh faces like Rishi Dhawan, Brainder Sran in the One-day International squad while in the T20 squad Yuvraj Singh has been recalled into the team keeping in the mind the World T20 to be held in India in March. India lost to Australia in the semi-finals of World Cup 2015 and will be looking to perform well.
Suresh Raina was dropped from the One-day Internationals. The other players dropped from One-day Internationals were Stuart Binny, Ambati Rayadu, Amit Mishra, Mohit Sharma. This is India’s best chance of beating Australia in their own den.
