Following the conclusion of the ongoing tour of England, Rohit Sharma & Co. will travel to the Caribbean for the upcoming India tour of West Indies 2022.

Team India are currently busy playing the ODI series against the hosts. The visitors won the first ODI by ten wickets and will be looking to win the three-match series. Prior to the ODIs, India had won the T20I series but had lost the rescheduled Test in Birmingham.

The ODI series against England will come to an end on August 17. The team will then fly straight to the Caribbean for the limited-overs tour of West Indies.

India tour of West Indies 2022 overview:

The India tour of West Indies 2022 will get underway this month. The tour will start with the ODI leg from July 22. The three-match ODI series will be followed by five T20Is.

The tour will come to an end with the fifth and final T20I on August 7 in Florida. The BCCI has already announced the ODI squad and are set to announce the T20I squad this week.

So before the BCCI announces the India T20I squad, here is the predicted squad:

According to recent media reports, both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are set to be rested for the T20I series. At the same time, veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav are likely to make a return to the team.

Openers: Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are set to be the designated openers of the team. At the same time, Rishabh Pant is likely to be tried out as an opener in the upcoming series.

Pant had opened the innings twice during the series against England and looked promising at the top.

Middle-order: Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer

Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer are set to take care of Team India’s middle-order in the upcoming India tour of West Indies 2022.

While both Hooda and Suryakumar have been in stunning form in T20Is, Iyer will be desperate to score some runs in the upcoming matches after failing to do well in recent times.

Wicketkeeper: Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik

Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be the designated wicketkeepers of the team. While Pant is the first choice for the role, Karthik will be the backup.

Allrounders: Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel

Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel will take care of the allrounders’ department. Pandya has been in good form since returning to action through the IPL and will be eyeing another good outing. On the other hand, Patel will be looking to make more impact in T20Is.

While Yuzvendra Chahal is set to retain his place in the team, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav are likely to be recalled into the team for the series.

Fast-bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik
