India v New Zealand, 2nd T20I: India’s Predicted XI

After a crushing victory in the opening T20I against New Zealand, the Indian team are gearing up for yet another series win when the two teams take the field at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot tomorrow for the 2nd match of the series. India outplayed the visitors in all three departments of the game and ran triumphantly by 53 runs.

The winning combination is expected to remain the change, but there will be an obvious change in the form of Ashish Nehra. If the team management decides to stick with the same tactics for the 2nd T20I, then there is a possibility of uncapped pacer Mohammad Siraj making his debut.

Now let us look at India’s Predicted XI for tomorrow’s clash:

Rohit Sharma

After failing in the first two ODI’s, Rohit Sharma has looked in tremendous touch in the last two limited overs matches. He was a bit slow to start of his innings in Delhi but slowly started gaining in confidence and finding the gaps on a consistent basis. He went berserk after reaching his half-century and smashed 4 sixes during his knock of 80 of 55 deliveries.

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan smashes a ball out f the park during his innings of 80 of 52 deliveries.

The southpaw shared a brilliant 158 runs stand with Rohit for the opening wicket and looked in ominous touch from the outset. He was the more attacking batsman during the initial stages of the innings and stroked his way to 80 of 52 deliveries before giving away his wicket. He will definitely look to continue his good form in the must-win encounter for the Kiwis.

Virat Kohli

Now how do you describe this batsman? He is undoubtedly the greatest limited overs batsman in the world currently and even during his brief 10 balls stay during the 1st T20I he made full use of those 10 balls and smashed 26 including 3 gigantic sixes. He has also led his troops to perfection and has been a livewire in the field.

Shreyas Iyer

Despite making his debut in the previous encounter, Iyer didn’t get an opportunity to bat especially after the opening duo shared a mammoth partnership between them which lasted 16 overs. He will definitely look to bat come tomorrow and prove his point in the international circuit.

MS Dhoni

Dhoni is not the same old Dhoni which he was a few years ago but still, he is a very dominant force to reckon with. He has played some crucial knocks in the recent past and has helped India win numerous matches. During the opening T20I, Dhoni batted only for 2 balls and smashed his very first ball out of the stadium for a huge 93 m six.

The talented all-rounder has failed with the bat in the last few matches but that doesn’t take away anything from the attacking abilities Pandya possess. He can clear the boundaries on a consistent basis and is a nightmare for any bowler on his day. He is also a useful bowler and bagged the crucial wicket of Kane Williamson in the opening T20I

Axar Patel

The left-arm spinner has been a valuable member of the limited-overs team and as a T20 bowler has impressed all and sundry. He has the ability to contain the batsman and despite not turning the ball match he has an economy rate of only 6 runs per over. He is also a useful lower order batsman which gives him the nod ahead of the likes of Kuldeep Yadav

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

He has been improving his skills with each passing day and has evolved as one of the best-limited overs bowlers currently. He castled Colin Munro with a lethal Yorker in the 1st T20I and bowled some terrific lines. He has also improved in his batting by leaps and bounds and proved it very recently during the opening ODI against the Kiwis when he smashed a 14 balls 27 which included a couple of sixes.

Jasprit Bumrah

He is the No.1 ranked bowler in the Latest ICC T20I Rankings for bowlers and is possibly the best-limited overs bowler in the world at the moment. He has a brilliant Yorker and a sensational slower ball up his sleeve and can consistently bamboozle the opposition batsmen with his variations. He bowled a sensational spell in the death overs of the deciding ODI against the Kiwis which eventually handed India a 2-1 series victory.

Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal has been an impressive addition to the Indian team. He has been pretty consistent and has been chipping away with the wickets in almost all the matches. He bowled brilliantly in the opening match and bagged a couple of crucial wickets which never allowed the Kiwis to stage a comeback. He has quite a lot of variations and has foxed the oppositions quite regularly.

Mohammad Siraj

Siraj might make his international debut for India tomorrow if India does decide to retain the same policy which they employed in the first T20I. He is an impressive prospect and can with some venom. He announced his arrival with impressive performance for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
