Australian captain Steven Smith owned India with his second hundred of the series on day one of Ranchi Test match.

India and Australia resumed cricket on Thursday after a long week which had talks, banter, pointing-fingers, blame game and what not. Ranchi, which is hosting an international Test match for the first time, became India’s 26th ground to do so in history. The Test saw two captains Virat Kohli and Steven Smith in a kind mood, at least initially.

Australia, who after winning the toss, had the day in their pocket as they were 299 for four on Stumps. A century from captain Steven Smith had everyone talking about his knock, and got to be, it was pretty impressive, to say the least.

Prior to the start of the match, both sides seemed adamant over their on-field and off-field behaviours but were brought down to earth by different bodies; BCCI, Cricket Australia and Match Referees. The decision though seemed legit as in words of Richie Richardson, ‘Cricket should be the winner in the end‘.

Now then the day one is over, there is something to talk about or something that has been talked about in the due course. So at Sportzwiki, let’s figure what were the plays of the day.
