India vs Australia 2017: MCA Members Unhappy With Wasteful Expenses Ahead of Pune Test

As per reports, members of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) have decided to felicitate its former players and also fling on its district representatives, which according to the senior member Madhav Ranade is a wasteful expense.
He has further objected the issue by writing to the BCCI’s Committee of Administrators’ head Vinod Rai about the same.
Ranade also said these decisions were taken at the MCA’s managing committee meeting, held by the secretary. The meeting, however, included members who had been disqualified by the Supreme Court’s judgement based on Lodha Panel reforms.
Admitting that MCA disregarded the Lodha reforms and also showed less interest in following the apex court’s order, he expressed his willingness of seeing things happen in the right manner after the COA’s meeting on Friday.
Speaking about his concerns, Ranade has asked for an administrator to be appointed for the conduct of the match, as he fears there won’t be any account of how much will be spent for the match. He further added the members still listen to the sacked BCCI secretary Ajay Shrike.
In his letter to Vinod Rai, he said, ‘The members of the districts have all been promised 25 passes each to oblige their district members for the match. They will enjoy hospitality at the association’s expense for 10 days. I feel this is a wasteful expenditure and the committee needs to be controlled by the COA or the BCCI.
“Our association is in debt to the tune of more than Rs 300 crores and in spite of this money is wasted for unplanned meetings. Further the association plans to felicitate Test players who have represented Maharashtra before the inaugural Test match without any sanction for the expenses likely to be incurred.”
“Besides they plan to felicitate Mr Shirke as well! It really is surprising that the members still feel the need to do so when the association is in such a huge debt under his leadership.”
