India vs Australia 2019: Harsha Bhogle Picks Hosts’ Playing XI, Rests Rohit Sharma

The renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle has picked India’s playing XI for the final and fifth One Day International against Australia. Since it is the last opportunity for the India National Cricket Team to test their bench strength, Bhogle has made some changes to the last match’s final XI. Bhogle has rested India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who had scored a good knock of 95 runs in the previous match.

Subsequently, Bhogle wants to open the innings with KL Rahul, who had batted at number three position in the last game. Rahul is considered as the back-up opener and he had scored 26 runs off 31 balls in the last match.

No Kedar Jadhav in the team.

Furthermore, Harsha Bhogle has got back Ambati Rayudu in the playing XI. Rayudu was dropped from the last match which India lost by four wickets after Ashton Turner came up with a fine knock. The rookie all-rounder Vijay Shankar has also made the cut into Bhogle’s team.

Moreover, the famous commentator and analyst has dropped Kedar Jadhav. Jadhav had only scored 10 runs in the previous match. In fact, Bhogle is going with three seamers as he has got Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah in his last XI. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the two spinners in Bhogle’s team.

Bhogle believes if it is going to be a high scoring game like the Mohali ODI, the Indian team will need a heavy batting side. Meanwhile, the series is tied at 2-2 and the decider will be played in the capital at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

Harsha Bhogle took to his Twitter account to share his thought. The post read as, “Given this is the last chance to look at players and combinations, I would try this tomorrow if it is a sporting deck: Rahul, Shikhar, Kohli, Rayudu, Vijay Shankar, Pant, Bhuvneshwar, Kuldeep, Shami, Chahal, Bumrah. If another 350 game, will need more batting”.
