A team that had only won a single T20I in New Zealand is now on the cusp of whitewashing hosts and Team India is pretty confident that it will pull it off. Despite making experiments in the playing XI in the fourth T20I, India pushed the game into Super Over and won the six-ball face off for the second consecutive time.

Despite coming close to win on two occasions, New Zealand failed to complete the chase, which shows that they have a lot of work to do. Their only aim now would be to avoid a defeat here and bounce back to gain some confidence going into the ODI series. But will it be so easy for them?

Conditions –

Bay Oval is again a high scoring ground and expect the team batting first to put up a total of over 200. Captain winning the toss would want to bowl first but India might go for batting to test bowlers once again.

Here is the likely playing XI of both the teams –

Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav are only two players who haven’t got a chance so far. Kuldeep can come in place of Yuzvendra Chahal but Rishabh doesn’t hold any chance of playing a game now because the team management preferred Sanju Samson over him. Kuldeep’s inclusion is the only change that one can expect in Team India’s line-up.

Likely playing XI: KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal/ Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Navdeep Saini

New Zealand:

All eyes will be on Kane Williamson, who he had missed the fourth T20I due to shoulder issue. He is expected to be fit for the fifth T20I. Every member of New Zealand has played at least one game in the series and the team combination will remain the same if Williamson isn’t fit.

Likely playing XI: Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson/Tom Bruce, Ross Taylor, Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Scott Kuggeleijn, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Hamish Bennett
