Date and Venue of India vs South Africa 2nd Test match: 10th-14th October, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium at Pune.
India will play with more confidence.
Rohit Sharma has solved the problem of the Test opener. Rohit Sharma in his debut match as a Test opener has played tremendously well. The player in the first Test match scored 303 runs. Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara, in the top order, also played well.
The middle-order has not played well in Visakhapatnam. Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane in the first innings were out early. But Vihari’s and Rahane’s performance in the West Indies tour was outstanding so they can be the trusted player.
Talking about bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin picked seven wickets in the first innings and Ravindra Jadeja picked four wickets in the second innings. The fifth day was good for the pacer Mohammed Shami as he scalped wickets in the second innings. So overall, the spinner and pacer combination proved beneficial for the team.
India will play with more confidence in the second Test match after registering their first victory.
South Africa needs to work hard
South Africa showed good performance in their first innings. Dean Elgar opened the innings and scored 160 runs for the team. Quinton de Kock also scored a century and helped the visitors to chase down the score. But both players in the second innings lost their wickets early as they lost the first Test match.
South African bowlers also had to struggle a lot to pick the wickets. The spinner Keshav Maharaj was only the successful bowler. In both innings, he picked the wicket of Rohit Sharma. The visitors will have to work hard in the Indian soil to make a come back in the Test Series.
