There has been so much of controversies and uncertainties regarding the ongoing series between India and West Indies. Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is facing trouble about the fact that they are having hard times over several issues and one of the prime is the hosting of the 4th ODI. Previously, Dharmasala was scheduled to host the 4th ODI but due to some problems on weather and other conditions, alternate venues are being thought up.
And likely, Vizag is to host the fourth ODI. The third ODI itself will be hosted at Vizag and it would be pretty much of a challenge for Vizag to host another ODI in such a short notice and make arrangements in such short span of time.
The main problem in hosting the ODI at Dharmasala is regarding the transport to the Northern State. Some of the commercial airlines have also expressed their unwillingness to travel to the state. Also, BCCI is having problems in making arrangements for chartered flights for the players.
Also, the airport at Dharmasala is not big enough and thus only small flights will be able to land there. In addition to that, the airport does not possess the facility for night landing. As an alternate way, journey by road is possible but it will take an overall five hours or more to reach there which might be hectic for the players.
The officials of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association have assured of the fact that they are trying their level best to make the game happen at Dharmasala. The media manager of HPCA, Mohit Sood said that they have even printed the tickets for the match and they could not find any reason for the match not being held at Dharmasala.
Some officials of HPCA have also started blaming BCCI for their poor planning. They also said that transport facilities had to be finalized before finalizing the game in the northern state.
However, BCCI officials assured that they are trying to organize the game according to schedule. If the game could not be organized at Dharmasala, it would be surely be held at Vizag.
