Today was the 2nd ODI of the 5 ODIs to be played between India and West Indies. India started the game today. Today finally Virat Kohli return to form and what an excellent way. Raina and Dhoni were the others who scored runs for India on a sluggish pitch. In the end they gave West Indies a target of 264 to chase. West Indies had a great opening and 1st wicket partnership. Hits of the Day
1. Dwayne Smith
Dwayne Smith played exceptionally well today. In the last match also he played very well. Today he was not lucky and was just 3 runs short of a century. He scored 97 runs for his team but all his efforts went into vain as West Indies didn’t win the macth.
2. Virat Kohli
After days os struggle finally Virat Kohli roared and hit his 31st half century in ODI. This match was really a big confidence booster for him. Hope he improves and returns to his tremendous form and score big runs in the World Cup 2015.
3. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina has been in good form and today also it showed that. He played with full confidence and scored runs at a high strike rate. He gave moral support to Virat Kohli and scored 105 runs in partnership.
4. MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni once again proved why he is the best batsman in the death overs. After the dismissal of Virat and Raina it seemed that India will settle on a low score. But Dhoni proved everyone wrong and scored a half century and pushed India’s score to 263.
5. Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami was the best bowler today. He picked up 4 wickets in just 9.3 overs and gave away the lowest runs of 36 with an economy rate of 3.8. He dismissed the big guns of West Indies who otherwise could have proved harmful and India might not have won the match.
6. Jerome Taylor
Jerome Taylor was the highest wicket taker from the West Indies side. He picked up 3 wickets in hi 10 overs spell. Although he was expensive but he took wickets. He gave away 54 runs.
Flops of the Day
1. Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan was a big disappointment today. He scored just 1 run today. His performance is fluctuating. One day he bats really well and the other day he goes with a single digit runs. He must overcome his weakness and practice well.
2. Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane also has the same problems which Dhawan is facing. He is also not consistent. He also needs to focus and work hard.
3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned empty-handed. He bowled 7 overs and was unable to pickup any wickets. And moreover he gave away 32 runs with an economy of 4.6.
4. Darren Bravo
We expected more from Darren Bravo as West Indies was in pressure from the beginning. They had a huge score to chase on a sluggish pitch. But he managed to score only 26 runs.
