India vs Windies 2018: 3rd T20I – India’s Predicted XI

Team India will look to test their bench strength when they face Windies in the third and the final twenty20 internationals on November 11 (Sunday) at Chennai.

Meanwhile, the selectors have rested Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yada from the third T20I. The selectors have decided to rest to keep them fresh ahead of the Australia series. Instead, they have called Siddarth Kaul for the last and the final T20I game.

The hosts have played some decent cricket throughout this series and will look to finish the series on a high. With the critical Australia series lined-up, the players will look to pull their socks up.

With the series already done and dusted, India will look to give an opportunity to the remaining squad to keep them fresh. Moreover, it will be a welcome chance for the players as they will aim to make a mark against a depleted Windies side.

Here is the predicted XI for Team India for the third T20I series against Windies at Chennai:

ROHIT SHARMA (C)

Rohit Sharma has once again led the side from the front and has maintained the record of winning all the series under his leadership. And with the form, he is in with the bat; he will be dangerous for Windies in the dead rubber.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN

Although Shikhar Dhawan got some runs under his belt in the last outing, he is yet to find the right touch. The southpaw will look to get his form back before taking the flight to Australia for a long tour.

SHREYAS IYER

Shreyas Iyer has done tremendously well for Mumbai in the domestic circuit, however, has lacked consistency for India. It will be a welcome opportunity for him who will look to put some runs under his belt.

RISHABH PANT

Rishabh Pant has struggled to continue his Test form in the limited format of the game. He will be keen to score some run to bring back his confidence for his debut tour of Australia.

MANISH PANDEY

Manish Pandey showed enough potential as a middle-order batsman but has lacked consistency. He has been in and out of the squad and thus will look to score big and be in the excellent book of the selectors.

DINESH KARTHIK (WK)

Dinesh Karthik played an unbeaten match-winning hand in the opening T20I fixture. With age and experience, Karthik has grown as a cricketer and will be crucial in the middle-order for India. Moreover, he has also done a decent job with the gloves on.

WASHINGTON SUNDAR

Washington Sundar made an impressive debut in the international circuit; however, an unexpected injury sidelined him. And now, with returning to the squad again, the young all-rounder will be keen to cement his place in the team.

BHUVNESHWAR KUMAR

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has led the Indian team across formats with the new ball. His ability to pick wickets at the start has made him a key component in this set-up. India will want him to continue his job as they look for a whitewash in Chennai.

SIDDARTH KAUL

The selectors have called in Siddarth Kaul to provide Jasprit Bumrah some rest ahead of the Australia tour. Kaul has done exceedingly well in the domestic circuit and will have to continue this form in the international circuit.

YUZVENDRA CHAHAL

Yuzvendra Chahal has done tremendously well for India in the limited-over series for India over the past one year. Although he didn’t feature in the opening two games, Chahal will slot in as the selectors decided to rest Kuldeep Yadav.

The young leg-spinner will look to pick some wickets and visit the Down Under with some confidence behind his back.

KHALEEL AHMED
