India vs Windies 2018: Prithvi Shaw All Set to Make his Test Debut

India’s prodigy batsman Prithvi Shaw is all set to make his Test debut against the Windies in the upcoming two-match Test series. Shaw has impressed with his skills with the bat as he has shown the promise to be the future of Indian cricket. In fact, Shaw had made the cut for the final two Test matches against England. However, he was not able to make his place in the playing XI.

Therefore, the 19-year old Mumbai batsman is all set to take the opening duties with KL Rahul, who had scored a fine 149 in the final innings on England soil. Therefore, Shaw will become the 293 Test player for the Indian team.

Meanwhile, Prithvi Shaw has scored a truckload of runs in the domestic circuit. He had recently scored a century against South Africa A side. Furthermore, he had done well on England tour with the India A side. Thus, the young batsman has given a push to his selection envelope for the playing XI against the Windies.

On the other hand, BCCI will announce their squad for the two-match Test series against Windies on Sunday. India’s full-time Virat Kohli is expected to back at the helm.

Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal is also knocking hard at the selection doors. In fact, the Karnataka batsman is likely to get his place in the Test side after brilliant performances for the India A as well in the domestic level.

Meanwhile, Murali Vijay is likely to sit out. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma will undertake the fitness test before the selection will be announced.

Thus, India is going to make a few changes to their squad. Hanuma Vihari had also impressed in his maiden outing and is likely to retain his place in the side.
