Indian 30 member provisional squad for the 2015 World Cup announced

The Indian Selection committee led by Sandeep Patil has announced India’s 30 member provisional squad for the upcoming 2015 World Cup. The squad that will represent India and defend the World Cup crown which they won in 2011 will be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Once again the selectors have ignored the veterans including Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh.

Fringe players like KL Rahul, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhar, Karn Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson are rewarded with a place in the 30 member squad courtesy some brilliant performances in the domestic season.

The 15 member squad for the World Cup squad is almost settled and it is expected to be announced in the second week of January as the deadline for announcing the squad is 14 January 2015.

30 member provisional squad:


Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, Manish Pandey and Murali Vijay.


MS Dhoni (captain), Wriddhiman Saha and Sanju Samson.


R Ashwin, Parvez Rasool, Karn Sharma, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Stuart Binny.


Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mohit Sharma, Ashok Dinda and Kuldeep Yadav.

Likely Final 15 member Squad: MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Varun Aaron, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Mohammad Shami.
