Indian Premier League: Indian XI

We are just a few hours away from the start of the ninth edition of the “festival of cricket” IPL. The festival of cricket will again be celebrated with great pomp and show all over India. Every Indian fan openly comes in support of his team. In IPL players from almost each cricket playing nation comes here and perform to showcase their talent and to present their case in front of the national selectors. IPL has given some famous players like Lendl Simmons, Kevon Cooper, Chris Gayle too because he made his comeback riding on performance in IPL.

Talking of Indian players, IPL has been a boon for Indian players because any Indian player who is able to smash few big hits and is able to grab few wickets gets the ticket to Indian cricket team. Starting from the first edition of IPL Manpreet Gony was the first one to get a ticket to Indian cricket team. Though he could not have a long lasting international career.

Next, in the list is Sudeep Tyagi who too failed to convert the good start into a big international career. Rahul Sharma, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya are the players who have played for India riding on their performance in IPL. Rahul Sharma is finding it difficult to break into his stateside and Axar too have been dropped from the international squad. Hardik Pandya has just started his career and we have to wait for few years to pass a judgement on him.

IPL is a necessary for Indian cricket too as players get an opportunity to earn name and fame but the selection of players on the basis of IPL is not a good idea. Yes, we can select T20 squad on the basis of IPL but the selection of ODI team on the basis of performance in IPL seems to be unfair. Axar Patel was selected on performance in IPL but he made his T20I debut after a year of being selected in the national squad.

Our Indian players have a good record at IPL and today we are selecting Indian IPL XI as a respect to our Indian players. Let’s have a look at the team-
