Indian eves seal the series with a comprehensive win in final ODI

Indian women defeated the New Zealand by nine wickets in the decider at the M Chinaswamy stadium, Bangalore just few moments ago. It was a dominating performance by the Indian team who outplayed their opponents but India got only 2 points for the ICC women’s Championship points.

Chasing 119 run target Indian innings got off to a good start with Kamini and Madhana attacking the bowlers. Madhana hit 3 successive fours of Tahahu bowling. Madhana was dismissed by Nielsen for a personal score of 13 runs off 8 ball. Team score is 18. At lunch India were 27 for 1. After lunch break Deepti Sharma and Kamini attacked the bowling and never allowed them to settle to a line. Kamini was the attacking batter. Both Kamini and Deepti Sharma finished off the match in 26 over’s to help India win the series 3-2. Kamini was not out on 62 and Deepti Sharma finished on 42 not out. India won the match by 9 wickets.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand women won the toss and elected to bat. The innings got off to a poor start losing Priest in the very first over. Saatherwaite was the second wicket to go for 5. Devine and Suzie Bates put up a 49 3rd wicket partnership. After the loss of Devine wickets, New Zealand women lost wickets at regular intervals. The Indian bowlers were excellent with their line and length. New Zealand were bowled out for 118 in 41 over’s. The top scorer for New Zealand was Suzie Bates with 42. Jhulan Goswami, Gaywkad , Deepti Sharma picked 2 wickets each and Ekta Bisht, Harmanpreet Kaur picked 1 wicket each.

With this win India won the series 3-2.
