India might have a couple of things to worry along with some good things coming their way in the ODI series. However now recording a Big win against Middlesex in the practice game which will now work as confidence booster which was dried up in the poor loses in the test series.

With all the players in the team can take part with only 11 can bat and 11 bowl, India literally rested regular Captain MS Dhoni as he wasn’t expected to take the field and Sanju Samson would keep in his absence and Virat Kohli led the Indians at the Lords’ against the home team Middlesex.

Middlesex captain Malan won the toss and put Indians into bat. Openers Dhawan and Rohit looked good smashing couple of boundaries before Sandhu sent back Dhawan who struck straight to Malan at Mid-off. Rohit Sharma found comediest of dismissals even in warm up game as he slashed a ball towards third man region where the boundary was not much than 45 yards and still ended been caught for 8. Soon Rahane too departed as he chipped to mid-on for 14.

With 52 for 3 by 14th overs, it was all up to Captain Kohli and new man Rayudu to rescue. Kohli who looked lost in the test series looked back in his touch with Rayudu providing a good support. Virat brought up his fifty off 59 balls and looked good for a big innings still young spinner Ravi Patel struck big. Patel who was smashed by Kohli for the only Six of innings got the man with a beauty and got Kohli caught behind for 71 who put on a stand of 104 in 99 balls with Rayudu.

Jadeja who turned up after Kohli didn’t last long as Ravi Patel got Ravi Jadeja for just 7. Ashwin who came in at No.7 looked good during his stay at crease along with Rayudu who was going on the Middlesex bowling. At end of 40th over, Rayudu retired on 72 off 82 which had 8 boundaries. But the next two balls produced wickets Ashwin departed for 18 after been trapped by Rayner and later sent back Binny for a golden duck on a return catch as Indians were struggling at 211 for 8. Later Samson too gave a return catch to Rayner as he departed for 6. And interesting thing was Raina coming at No.11 but he too couldn’t resist long with Raina trying to come down track to hit a biggie of Rayner got stumped instead for 5 as Indian innings ended on 230 in 44.2 overs.

Defending a Total of 231, Indian did a great job to bundled out Middlesex for just 135. Bhuvi gave the first blow with Gubbins returned hut edging a delivery strangling down leg. Shami later sent back the opposition’s skipper Malan with a brilliant ball which crashed through his stumps. Stirling who looked good playing strokes too returned after playing a poor shot on a poor delivery of Umesh. Player from England squad Eoin Morgan got out edging Mohit‘s delivery behind stumps for 16 as they were 4 down for 64. Soon Kulkarni and Ashwin seen the set back of Higgins and Simpson respectively bringing down Middlesex for 101 for 6.

After it, it was the Karn Sharma‘s duty to seen the wrapping of the tail as he chipped in with three wickets of Balbrine, Harris and Sandhu and the best while bowling, Rayner got run out by Jadeja as the county side handovered Indians a 95 run victory.
