The Indian Premier League is turning out to be an attractive proposition for foreign players because the IPL provides a global platform that no other domestic T20 leage can match.

News is just coming in that 32-year old Warwickshire allrounder has added himself to the IPL auction list after one of the franchises had shown appreciable interest in acquiring his services.

Clarke has represented his country in 22 ODI matches, the last of which came in 2006, and was alerted by one of the franchises of their interest in signing him.

Clarke recently underwent an Achilles operation but is confident he will be fit for the upcoming IPL season, although question marks remain over his availability.

Although Clarke, who took a wicket with his first ball in international cricket as a 21-year-old, developed a reputation as something of a wasted talent for a while in his mid-20s, he has been quite a late bloomer in cricketing terms having played his best cricket in recent seasons.

In last year’s Friends Life t20, Clarke notched up 216 runs at 30.85 at a strike rate of 118 and also claimed seven wickets at 24.85 with an impressive economy rate of 6.96.

IPL  franchises, are you taking note?
