The defending IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, started off their IPL season in great fashion by beating a star studded Mumbai Indians team and the skipper Gautam Gambhir is very happy with the start of the IPL-8 season.
Gambhir, who said that the team performed their bit in every aspect, took some time to praise the new sensation Surya Kumar Yadav, who was a part of the winning team to get a knock under the belt for the season.
Yadav set the whole stadium at blaze as he scored 46 runs off a mere 20 balls and cleared the ropes 5 times in the process. Gambhir, his skipper, was joyous over this display and came up with a nickname for the hard hitter. Gambhir took to social media when he asked the fans to spill out their opinion the new hitters nick name is ‘SKY’.
KKR who were able to beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets were happy as a team and Yadav who was sent in at number 4, did not let his captain down who had great words for him even before the IPL even kicked off. Gambhir said that the youngster did not let him down and that he has high hopes for him as a player.
Earlier in the day, the Mumbai Indians skipper Sharma started off IPL in great fashion with an unbeaten 98 but saw the knock go in vain in the end.
