IPL 2016: KKR player ratings v Delhi Daredevils
Apr 11, 2016 at 12:13 PM
The Kolkata Knight Riders registered a clinical win over the Delhi Daredevils to kick off their campaign in style. KKR overpowered Delhi Daredevils in all the departments of the game and won the game comfortably by 9 wickets with still 35 balls to spare. Well, that’s a big margin and would have surely benefited the home side in terms of NRR.
KKR side banked on experienced and international players who exactly knew about their job and were ready to produce the goods whereas Delhi Daredevils heavily relied on the domestic stars like Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson, Mayank Agarwal and many more who failed to overcome the pressure. Though they have an aggressive opener Q De Kock in their squad but he too is in starting face of his career and has a long way to go.
An injury to Duminy and unfit Shami adds to the team woes as both are an integral part of the team. Surely these players have to prove their match fitness before the start of next match as it is essential for these players to get fit within time as the team needs their services as early as possible.
Kolkata Knight Riders players made a strong control in the game right from the start as they were successful to give early blows to the visiting team. Half of the Delhi team was back in the pavilion with just 55 runs on the board and they ended their innings on just 98 runs. A miracle could have saved Delhi daredevils from a defeat but that did not happen as an experienced batting line-up of KKR chased down the target easily.
Kolkata Knight Riders players played brilliantly to register the first win in the opening game itself. So let’s have a look at their ratings-
Gautam Gambhir – 8/10
Robin Uthappa – 7/10
Manish Pandey – 8/10
Andre Russel 9/10
Piyush Chawla 8.5/10
John hastings – 9.5/10
Brad Hogg 9.5/10
Umesh Yadav – 4/10
