Feb 20, 2017 at 3:36 PM
The auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League lived up to its hype and expectations as few unexpected names bagged some whopping deals while few big names missed out on the chance to earn a lucrative IPL contract.
The likes of Ben Stokes, Tymal Mills, T Natarajan, Rashid Khan have hit the jackpot with mouth-watering deals while some big players like Ishant Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Imran Tahir, Angelo Mathews went unsold. Well, one cannot blame the franchises for ignoring these big names as they were looking to build the strongest-possible team from a limited purse.
The auction is all done and dusted now and here are some of the best Twitter reactions:
The #IPL has transformed many lives and families. Little appreciated side to it

Ben Stokes $2.16m in IPL auction pretty much expected. But Tymal Mills goes for $1.8m – wow. And to think he wanted to be sports journalist!
