Virat Kohli’s woeful season with the bat continued, as the Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper was dismissed for only five in the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

The India skipper had come to the crease after Umesh Yadav dismissed Chris Gayle for a golden duck and would have hoped to score big to power his team to a good total.

With just a couple of wins in 12 matches, the Royal Challengers are out of the race for a playoff berth and are only playing for their pride now. However, Umesh Yadav piled more misery on them when he sent back their skipper in only the third over.

What will make Kohli even more disappointed that he failed to capitalise on the reprieve that he had got on the previous delivery when Piyush Chawla had missed a sitter at mid-off. But the Knight Riders heaved a huge sigh of relief when Yadav took Kohli’s prized scalp on the very next delivery.

The India pacer bowled a back of the hand slower ball which Kohli failed to pick. The right-handed batsman swung across the line and missed it completely. The ball went on to hit the pads and the umpire wasted no time in raising his finger.

Here is a clip of the dismissal:

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
