IPL 2018: 49th Match, KKR vs RR – Kolkata Knight Riders Players’ Rating

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday bagged two crucial points as they inch closer to the playoffs by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) while registering six-wickets at the Eden Gardens.

Batting first, the visitors were off to a flier courtesy Jos Buttler. The Royals were reeling at 95 runs at the half-way stage for the loss of three wickets. However, a great comeback by Kolkata bowlers ensured that they have an upper hand in the game.

Kuldeep Yadav fiery spell of four for 20 ensured Rajasthan were bundled out for 142 runs.

In reply, however, KKR got off to a flier banking on Sunil Narine‘s 21 off 7 deliveries. Chris Lynn (45) played a responsible knock well supported by Dinesh Karthik (41*) to see their team home.

As a result, Kolkata jumps to 14 points from 13 games and inches forward to the playoff spot.

Chris Lynn: (7/10)

The brute force Chris Lynn played a responsible knock to take his team closer to the victory.

Chris Lynn scored 45 runs off 42 balls including five boundaries and one six, however, will curse himself for not finishing the game.

Sunil Narine: (7.5/10)

Sunil Narine‘s form with both bat and ball has been pivotal behind Kolkata’s success. He once again provided his team with a blistering start.

The all-rounder chipped in with one for 29 before notching 21 for just seven balls.

Robin Uthappa: (3/10)

Robin Uthappa has struggled to put runs under his belt in the last few games.

However, he is capable of leading the batting unit and has done that over the years.

Kolkata will want an inform Uthappa in the last few games.

Andre Russell: (7/10)

The Windies all-rounder had an all-round good game against the Royals. He chipped in with two for 13 before scoring 13 off five to win the match for his team.

Andre Russell‘s return to form will be a huge boost for the Kolkata based side.

Dinesh Karthik (c & wk): (8.5/10)

Skipper Dinesh Karthik once again played a captain’s knock to earn his team two crucial points. He remained unbeaten on 41 runs as he took his team over the rope.

Kolkata camp will want their skipper to continue with this superlative effort.

Nitish Rana: (5/10)

The southpaw got a good start and has been a consistent run scorer for the Knight Riders. Nitish Rana chipped in with crucial 21 runs from 17 balls to take his team closer to the target.

Meanwhile, his target will be to score more runs and contribute to team’s success.

Shubman Gill: (2/10)

The young Shubman Gill had no role to play in today’s games and the top-order did the job for them. However, he is an exciting talent and has proved that in the last few games.

Shivam Mavi: (4.5/10)

The young seamer Shivam Mavi went for plenty in his return from injury. Shivam Mavi gave away 44 runs in his full quota.

The team management will want him to be in top form at the business end of the tournament.

Javon Searles: (2/10)

The Windies seamer Javon Searles had no role to play in this game.

However, he had a poor outing in his debut game and will like to improve his performance in the next game.

Prasidh Krishna:(6/10)

The young seamer Prasidh Krishna is making a name for himself in his debut season in the IPL. He has justified his selection once again picking up two crucial wickets.

However, he will grow in confidence and this will help him grow in stature.

Kuldeep Yadav: (9.5/10)

Kuldeep Yadav was brilliant with the ball in today’s game. He rattled the Royals middle-order to return for four for 20 in his four overs.

His form will be a huge boost for Kolkata Knight Riders in this final few games.
