IPL 2018: Match 17, Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals – Toss Report

Prince Singh / 20 April 2018

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field first against Chennai Super Kings in the seventeenth match of the Indian Premier League at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.

Here is what the captains said:

Ajinkya Rahane:

“We will bowl first. It’s a good track and will last 40 overs. No pressure really, the mood in the camp is good. Looking forward to the game.”

MS Dhoni:

“We have got couple of changes. Raina is fit and he replaces Vijay, Harbhajan sits out, he’s replaced by Karn Sharma.”

Preview:

Chennai Super Kings will be seeking a fresh start at their home away from home. The Super Kings will play their remaining games in Pune instead of Chennai due to the ongoing political tension in Tamil Nadu. But while the team will surely miss the support of their fans, they would be keen to move on and get back to winning ways. Chennai suffered their first defeat of the season in the last game when they lost a close game against Kings XI Punjab.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have had a mixed start to the tournament so far, winning two and losing two. In their last game, they were thoroughly outplayed by Kolkata Knight Riders and need to come up with a superlative performance to get back to winning ways.

In the past, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were involved in many thrilling contests before their suspensions.  The rivalry is not very much celebrated but there is absolutely no dearth of entertainment when these two teams play. So fans can expect yet another contest from these two teams.
