Here is what the captains said:
“We are gonna bowl first. It is a good pitch and it is hard to defend on this ground. Not gonna change a lot. We played good cricket and it is just the finishing touch we are lacking. We need to understand as a team where we went wrong. It is a fresh game and we want to treat every game as a new game and start afresh.”
“We would have liked to bowl as well. It does look like a good surface and whatever we are gonna do, we should do well. We are going with 3 spinners and 3 seamers. Obviously number of injuries with Bhuvi and Stanlake missing out with injuries. Shikhar is back in the side. Nabi and Thampi are in too. Exciting times for us as some of the guys have got the opportunity for the first time this season. Looking forward to an exciting contest.”
Both the teams are locking horns against each other for a second time in less than two weeks. The last time the two teams met, it was an absolute thriller as Sunrisers chased down the total on the very last ball of the game.
Both the teams are entering the contest pretty much low on confidence. In their last game, Mumbai Indians suffered their fourth last-over defeat in five games. On the other hand, Sunrisers lost narrowly to Chennai Super Kings.
Beleaguered defending champions Mumbai Indians could not have asked for a better opponents than Sunrisers at the moment. Their pace spearhead Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not travelled with the team while Shikhar Dhawan is yet to get green light on his fitness. With nothing much going their way at the moment, both the teams will be keen to use this game as the start of a turnaround.
