Dec 22, 2018 at 4:45 PM
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to field first in the seventh game of the season against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Here is what the captains said:
Kane Williamson:
“Going to bowl. Good surface for bowling so we need to bowl well first up.”
Rohit Sharma:
“We’ve left out Mitch McCleneghan, and we’ve included Ben Cutting instead. We were outclassed by Bravo the other day, but we aren’t disheartened by that. It’s important to get a West Indies as soon as you can, because momentum is important. We know the threat that SRH possess.”
Preview:
Both the teams have made contrasting starts to their campaigns this year. While the Sunrisers cruised to a nine-wicket victory in Hyderabad over Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai lost a thrilling encounter against Chennai Super Kings by one run.
The Hyderabad-based franchise looked clinical throughout their game against the dismal Royals. They excelled in every department to earn a thumping win. Bowling first, the restricted the Royals to a sub-par 125 on a wicket that was good for batting. In reply, they chased down the modest total inside 16 overs by losing just one wicket.
On the other hand, Mumbai suffered a heart-breaking loss against Chennai. Their openers – Rohit Sharma and Evin Lewis – failed to fire but but the middle-order helped them post a decent 165. Mumbai were even ahead in the contest reducing Chennai to 118 for 8 at one stage before Dwayne Bravo’s 30-ball 68 took the game away from them.
So while Sunrisers would be looking to maintain their hundred percent record at home, Mumbai will be hoping to get back to winning ways on a ground where they lifted the title last season.
