TA Sekhar, the former team director of Mumbai Indians, might return to the franchise after he quit his post as the Director of Delhi Daredevils yesterday (November 17), a report in Mumbai Mirror suggests.

Sekhar, who was with the Delhi Daredevils right from the start of the IPL, has had been a part of Mumbai Indians backroom staff as well. The former India pacer surprisingly decided to part ways with Delhi based franchise, and this saw him joining Mumbai franchise in a full role.
Since Paras Mhambrey, now the bowling coach India A and India U19, had to leave his job in IPL, the team was looking for a new bowling coach, and TA Sekhar seems to be the man for the job, on which the franchise has inked upon.

Mumbai Indians might also extend the contract of Mahela Jayawardene, who was appointed as the Head Coach of the franchise last year for a season. He went on to coach the team to a title victory in his first stint with the franchise, and the team management might not let the experienced campaigner leave the backroom staff.
Already, the Mumbai Indians franchise has likes Sachin Tendulkar in the ranks and addition of Sekhar could be another boost for the team.
Meanwhile, other franchises have also started looking for prospects for the upcoming season. Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad are in talks with former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting, and if everything goes well, then he could opt for any of these franchises. The chances of him joining Delhi Daredevils are quite bright though, as they have been a further weekend with the exit of Rahul Dravid, the present India A and India U19 coach.
An official announcement regarding Ricky Ponting is expected to come anytime soon, which will clear all the rumours.
