Delhi Capitals (DC) find themselves in the playoffs of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after six years. They will be going up against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 8 (Wednesday) at Visakhapatnam to set up a date with Chennai Super Kings for the final spot. Meanwhile, on the eve of their game, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer said that they are looking forward to creating history.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals played some good cricket throughout the tournament. The players have backed each other with their skipper Iyer leading them with the bat from the front. Both teams will be missing some of the crucial stars for this encounter. While Sunrisers will miss the service of their prolific openers – David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, Kagiso Rabada will not be available for Delhi. Cricket South Africa have asked to return owing to a back injury ahead of the World Cup.

Shreyas Iyer said that they will look to draw confidence from their last win in Hyderabad. Although Sunrisers Hyderabad have a good record in the playoffs, Iyer sounded upbeat and admitted they are looking forward to the high-voltage clash.
“We have to take the confidence from our win against them in Hyderabad. They also beat us in Delhi, so both the teams are fairly confident, and it is going to be a tough match. They have a very good past in such situations but we are also looking forward to creating history,” Shreyas declared.

We have looked to focus on the basics
Shreyas Iyer said that they have focused on the basics which have worked well for the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing season of the IPL. He emphasised on doing the same things they have over the last month and pointed out of concentrating on doing the small things correctly.
“We don’t have to change much, we have to play the way we have been playing. We need to do the small things right, keep everything simple and stick to our basics, because that is what has helped us in coming this far, he added.
In conclusion, Shreyas Iyer said that they will have to take all strides in their favour and play the best cricket to finish on the top and fix a clash with the Chennai Super Kings on May 10.
