IPL 2019: Happy That I Don’t Bowl to Andre Russell – Kuldeep Yadav
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell has been in tremendous form helping side register wins in the first two games of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His teammate Kuldeep Yadav, who holds the guard with the ball is glad that he doesn’t have to bowl to the big Jamaican.
Russell has scored 159 runs so far in the three matches at an average of 79.50 and has looked in devastating form. He is currently the highest run-scorer for his side and scored at a rate close to almost 250. Besides, he has also chipped in wickets in every game making him a game-changer in this format. Kuldeep Yadav hailed Andre Russell saying that he is a match-winner for the team. He also added that the team is proud of him and wants him to continue like this throughout the tournament.
“You need a player who can change the game for you. We have Russell in that category. He is a perfect game changer for us. We all are proud of him. When he is on fire, he is unstoppable,” Kuldeep told Timesofindia.com in an exclusive interview.
Glad I don’t bowl to him: Kuldeep
Andre Russell has been a nightmare to the bowlers in this edition of the Indian Premier League. He has already smacked 15 towering sixes. Russell also holds the pole position in the most sixes’ chart in the season so far. Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s David Warner is second on the list with 10 sixes. Kuldeep Yadav admitted that he is lucky not to bowl at the Windies all-rounder. The spinner feels Russell can single-handedly destroy the economy rate of any bowler.
“I am glad I don’t have to bowl to him (Russell). He is the kind of player who can destroy any bowler’s economy rate,” Kuldeep added.
In conclusion, Kuldeep Yadav noted that Kolkata Knight Riders have the pedigree to lift the trophy this time around. With two wins from three games, they are currently at the fourth spot. They next face Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
