IPL 2019: It is Important On Your Day to Pull Your Team Through – Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu stitched a crucial partnership with MS Dhoni as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scripted an emphatic win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by four wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Batting first, Rajasthan could manage to post 151 runs at the end of 20 overs. Jos Buttler and Ajinkya Rahane got thier side off to a flying start. They posted 25 runs from the first two overs, but Chennai bounced back in style with Deepak Chahar dismissing Rahane. Buttler got the better of Shardul Thakur in the third over hitting him for three boundaries; however, Shardul had the last laugh. This dried up the runs as the Chennai bowlers took a firm grip on the game. They chipped in with wickets before Ben Stokes (28) played a patient knock and 18 runs from the last over helped them post 151 runs in the board.
You dream for these situations
Chasing 151 runs, Chennai Super Kings had the worst possible start. They were at 24 for four at the end of the powerplays losing the top four batsmen. Since then, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni shared an excellent stand of 95 runs to set the platform for the chase. With 18 runs required off the last over, Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner combined well to seal their sixth win of the tournament. Following his match-winning knock, Rayudu said that it is important to win matches for your team when you are on song.
“It was a tough going. The wickets have been slow. We both are really experienced. You dream for such situations where you can take your team out of trouble. There is no pressure. I have been batting well. When it is your day, you should help your team. I have been scoring 20s on those difficult wickets. It is important on your day to pull your team through,” Rayudu said.
Jadeja was outstanding: Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja had a good game against the Rajasthan Royals. After picking two crucial wickets with the ball, his first ball six in the last over changed the course of the game. Ambati Rayudu said Jadeja is finally getting into the groove and had a good game today.
“The first ball for a six from Jaddu was unbelievable. Definitely, he is coming into his groove. Obviously, he is very talented. He has been bowling well. Everyone knows about his fielding and today his batting as well,” he concluded.
