The match four of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) witnessed an unusual turn of events when Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin mankaded opponent batsman Jos Buttler. The event changed the course of the game and also attracted a lot of debates. However, cricket broadcaster Harsha Bhogle wants KXIP to leave behind the incident when they face Kolkata Knight Riders later today.

Meanwhile, Punjab staged a comeback in the latter half to beat the Royals by 14 runs. The home side lost seven wickets for just 16 runs handing the Kings XI Punjab a win. Bhogle feels the Punjab side have done their introspection in the very less time they got. Besides, the form of Chris Gayle, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mujeeb ur Rahman, and Sarfaraz Khan should keep them in good stead.

While the world focuses on the drama surrounding the Buttler dismissal, the Kings XI would have done some quiet introspection in the little time they had had since the game in Jaipur. It is a very quick turnaround for them and the tiredness will be offset by the form shown by Gayle, Mujeeb, Ashwin and Sarfaraz,” Bhogle wrote in TOI.

Impressed with Sarfaraz: Bhogle

Moreover, Harsha Bhogle added that Sarfaraz Khan has impressed him despite not expecting too much from him. The young batsman played some innovative shots and also undertook a few risks during his batting. Besides, the blistering form of Chris Gayle also helped Sarfaraz play his natural game.

I must admit I was sceptical about Sarfaraz being picked with such little cricket behind him but he looked in very good touch. There is a cheekiness and an audacity about him and he showed he could be smart too. He was helped by the fact that Gayle was in launch mode at the other end but his finish proved to be the difference between the Kings and the Royals,” Bhogle added.

In conclusion, Harsha Bhogle said that Kings XI Punjab will have to come out as a better bowling unit against the Kolkata Knight Riders as they have a strong batting line-up with inform Andre Russell.
