Kings XI Punjab will look to get5 back to winning ways when they meet the unfancied Royal Challengers Bangalore at the PCA Stadium in Mohali tomorrow. Punjab have already won 4 out of 7 encounters in the tournament so far and will definitely back themselves to win their 5th match against a franchise who are yet to win a match in the tournament.

Bangalore has kept going from bad to worse and needs a miracle to stay in the competition. Now with the 28th match of the tournament slated to be played in more than 24 hours time let us have a look at the Predicted Playing XI of Kings XI Punjab.

Chris Gayle

The southpaw looked in great touch against the Mumbai Indians and raced off to 63 of 36 deliveries which included 7 sixes and 3 fours. He has looked in good touch on a consistent basis but he needs to start converting his starts into centuries which he has done so well in the past. Chris Gayle might not be at the peak of his career, but his power hitting skills are still class apart.

The wicket-keeper batsman almost played a match-winning innings against the Mumbai Indians and scored his maiden IPL century. He looked in great touch and struck some exceptional shots. He hasn’t been in the best of touches in the first few matches but his century against Mumbai will definitely give him confidence as the tournament reaches the business end.

Mayank Agarwal

The youngster missed the previous clash against the Mumbai Indians owing to an injury. However, he should be fit for tomorrow’s clash against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. His excellent debut for India in Tests has reflected in his performances in the IPL. In all likelihood, Agarwal will be back in the Playing XI and should play an important part for Punjab.

Karun Nair

Nair played his first match of the tournament against Mumbai Indians in place of Mayank Agarwal. However, given his experience and ability to play according to the situation I will pick him ahead of Mandeep Singh for tomorrow’s clash against Bangalore. He is a useful batsman and one among the two Indian batsmen to score a Test triple century.

David Miller

The South African power hitter has just shown glimpses of his prowess in the tournament. However, his inconsistency has been a matter of concern for Punjab. Miller will definitely look to make an impact against Royal Challengers Bangalore and get back among runs. He has been with the franchise for a long time and is one of the most important players for Punjab.

Sarfaraz Khan

The youngster has looked in great touch in the tournament so far and the Kings XI skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has used him perfectly. Whenever presented the opportunity, Sarfaraz Khan has played according to the situation and has done a good job for the franchise. However, he needs to up the ante whenever he is there in the crease till the 20th over.

The left-arm English speedster who is also a useful batsman went for plenty of runs against the Mumbai Indians as Kieron Pollard smashed him all around the Wankhede Stadium. However,

he has been impressive for the major part of the tournament which includes a sensational hat-trick in the final over of the match against Delhi Capitals.

The skipper of the side has led them from the front. Not only he has been economical but the senior Ashwin has also been among the wickets. He has bowled in the perfect areas and has tried several variations including the side slinga like Kedar Jadhav. Ravichandran Ashwin has also led his troops brilliantly which helped them win crucial moments in the game.

Ankit Rajpoot

The fast bowler made an impression for Kings XI Punjab last year and also finished with the best bowling figures in the tournament. He was smashed for plenty in the final over but he did keep his nerves after conceding a six and a four of the first legal delivery. He should be part of the Playing XI.

Mohammed Shami

The Indian speedster has been a reliable option for Ravi Ashwin in the tournament so far. Shami has bowled brilliantly for India across formats and is currently enjoying his game to the fullest. Mohammed Shami had a difficult last year but he has made a sensational comeback and has exceedingly well in the tournament so far. He has given Punjab crucial wickets at important junctures of the game.

The Afghanistan spinner was dropped from the previous match against Mumbai but in home conditions, I will definitely go with the spinner who has bowled some exceptional deliveries in his career so far. The tweaker might play an important part tomorrow against Bangalore.
